In this 20-hour Embodied Meditation Training, you will receive the tools to guide meditation for groups and individuals. Not just yoga teachers, but other facilitators seeking to enhance their skills in leading meditation and contemplative practice are welcome!
We will cultivate somatic awareness and learn how to help others tune into their bodily sensations during meditation practice. We will explore the subtle energy system of the body and learn how to work with it to facilitate deeper meditative experiences. As guides, we will learn to create a safe and nurturing space for participants to explore their inner experience and study a variety of embodied meditation techniques, adapting them to meet the needs of individual participants.
We will explore how to offer guidance and support during the meditation practice, including mindful breathing and body scans (nyāsa). We will train in grounding, activating, and contemplative practices to help participants connect with the present moment and find calm. We will also look at the connection between the stress response, mindfulness, emotions, and embodiment, and how to support participants in working with their emotions.
Through community practice, our meditations will foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment for growth and exploration. Together we will discover that the art of embodied meditation is not just a set of techniques, but the heart of the teacher that brings it to life. Join us on this journey of inner exploration and self-discovery as we cultivate the flow of meditation in our lives.
